General Studies and Engineering Aptitude Paper:

Current issues of nation and international importance, economics and industrial development, General Principles of Design, Drawing, Importance of Safety, Basics of Project Management, Engineering Mathematics and Numerical Analysis, Basics of Material Science and Engineering,  Ethics and values in Engineering profession, Engineering Aptitude covering Logical reasoning and Analytical ability, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) based tools and their applications in Engineering such as networking, e-governance and technology based education

Mechanical Engineering:

Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Heat transfer, IC Engines, Turbo Machinery, Engineering Mechanics, etc.

Civil Engineering:

Building Materials, Solid Mechanics, Environmental Engineering, Structural Analysis, Hydraulic Mechanics and Hydro Power, etc.

Electrical Engineering:

Engineering Mathematics, Electric Circuits and Fields, Analog and Digital Electronics, Electrical Machines, etc.

Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering:

Basic Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, Network Theory, Analog and Digital Circuits, Analog and Digital Communication Systems, etc.

Choose Best Preparation Books:

  • Study materials plays an important role in the preparation. Don’t spend your valuable time in searching for the good books. You should go through the syllabus and books one by one. You should maintain a time-table and try to maintain that sheet till the end.
  • Once you done with the books, start solving the previous year question papers, test preparations, online test papers, etc.
  • Try to answer the questions that you know perfectly because in IES exam, negative marking is there. Be flexible and try to cover all the questions in the given time period.
