CTET Exam 2021: Central Teaching Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national level examination. It is conducted twice a year in July and December. It is conducted to certify the eligibility of candidates to be appointed as teachers at Primary and Upper Primary levels

Candidates who have completed their B. Ed and two years of 2 years of Diploma in elementary education (D. Ed) are eligible to apply for the CTET exam.

CTET 2022 Exam Notification

CTET is a national level eligibility test conducted by CBSE to determine the eligibility of candidates for the teaching profession. The candidates who qualify for the CTET exam can apply for teaching jobs in schools affiliated with CBSE across the country.

As per the recent notice released by CBSE, CTET Paper-2 of 16th December and both shifts of 17th December 2021 have been postponed due to some unexpected technical issues. The revised dates for the candidates whose exam was falling on these dates will be announced soon on ctet.nic.in. For dates 20th December 2021 onwards, the CTET Exam is to be held as per the schedule.

CTET Exam 2022 Conducting Body

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Delhi. CBSE is a Board of Education for Public and Private schools, under the Union Government of India. CBSE grants affiliation to schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas, all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Private schools and most of the schools approved by the Central Government of India up to Higher Secondary Level.

CBSE affiliation is considered prestigious, as it requires the schools to follow rigid quality standards. The board is also responsible for developing a common curriculum for these schools while keeping the educational requirements of the nation in focus.

CTET Exam Eligibility Criteria 2022

You should know the CTET Eligibility for the Exam before applying for the exam. The reserved categories will get a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks in the academic eligibility of CTET. To apply for CTET 2021, you must be at least 18 years old. The upper age limit for applying the CTET exam is not specified.

CTET Exam Eligibility Criteria for Primary Classes (Classes 1-5)

For primary levels, you must fulfill the criteria as given below:

  • You must pass senior secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
  • You should pass or appear in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education

OR

  • You have to pass senior secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 45% marks.
  • You need to complete or appear in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

OR

  • You should complete senior secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
  • You have to pass or appear in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

  • You have to pass senior secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
  • Along with it, you should have a pass certificate of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education) *.

OR

  • You should have a graduation degree in the relevant discipline.
  • You must have a certificate of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

CTET Exam Eligibility Criteria For Elementary Classes (Classes 6-8)

You must fulfill the criteria as given below:

  • You should have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline that must be obtained.
  • Also, you must accomplish or appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

OR

  • You should possess a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks that must be acquired.
  • You have to complete a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).

OR

  • You have to complete Graduation with at least 45% marks that must be done in relevant discipline.
  • You must accomplish a year in Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) as minimum qualifications, in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

OR

  • You should pass Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks
  • Also, You have to pass or appear in the final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

  • You should pass the senior secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.

CTET Application Form 2022

The CTET exam authority releases the CTET form 2022 in online mode on the official website. Eligible applicants can apply an online CTET Application Form 2021 to the official CBSE website. Candidates must fill all the important details in the CTET exam form 2022 such as personal, contact and academic details.

The procedure of CTET application form 2022 will be complete after the submission of application fee Rs 1000 for general category candidates while Rs 500 for reserved categories. The CTET exam 2022 online form submitted without paying the application fees will be rejected.

    • Now, click on “Apply for CTET 2022.”

    • For offline payment, you have to download the e-challan and deposit the fee in Canara Bank or Syndicate Bank.
  • Step 4: Print Confirmation Page

    • Now you should print it for record and future processes.
    • You need not send the Hard copy to the CTET office.

CTET 2022 Exam Pattern

CTET Exam Pattern has two papers – Paper 1 (Primary Stage) and Paper 2 (Elementary Stage)

  • Paper 1 is for aspirants who want to become a teacher for Classes I-V.
  • Paper 2 is for aspirants who want to become a teacher for Classes VI-VIII.

You will be awarded a +1 mark for every correct answer. The negative marking scheme will not be applicable to the exam.

CTET Exam Syllabus 2022

You should have the latest syllabus to prepare for any exams. Here we have provided the latest CTET Exam Syllabus.

CTET Exam Paper 1 is for Primary Stage Teachers Candidates, and Paper 2 is for Candidates of Elementary Stage Teachers. There will be 5 major subjects for CTET paper 1 & Paper 2. Candidates can also appear for both papers.

  • Paper 1 Syllabus has Child Development and Pedagogy. It focuses on educational psychology and teaching of children aged 6-11.
  • Paper 2 Syllabus comprises five sections viz., Child Development and Pedagogy for children aged 11-14 years.
  • Language 1, Language 2, Mathematics and Science, and Social Science are the other four sections.
  • Language 1 and Language 2 will contain questions from comprehension and language development.

Note that both Paper 1 and Paper 2 has two Language sections – Language I and Language II.

CTET Exam Admit Card 2022

CTET 2022 Admit Cards will be tentatively published for classes I – V and Classes VI-VIII on the official website. You should check the particulars on the admit card. It must match the details given on the confirmation page. You should check all the details on the Admit Card properly and if you found any discrepancies and report to the authority regarding any corrections. CTET Admit Card is a necessary document to be brought to the exam hall along with a photo ID proof. ID proof may be any of the following:

Authority releases CTET Admit Card 2022 on the official website. Applicants are advised to review all information on the admit card for any errors and to notify any corrections to the authority.

CTET Applicability

  1. The CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT’s of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and NCT of Delhi.
  2. CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.

According to CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, prescribing the minimum qualifications for teachers to teach various subjects in Classes I to VIII in the schools affiliated to CBSE stands amended to that extent and it shall be mandatory that the teachers appointed hereinafter i.e. 6 March 2012 to teach classes I to VIII in the Schools affiliated to the CBSE shall qualify/pass the Central Teacher Eligibility Test or Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), conducted by the appropriate Central/State Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE for this purpose.
