UGC NET 2020 June Exam

UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2020

You should know that detailed UGC NET Eligibility Criteria before filling the online application form. You must fulfill the eligibility conditions prescribed by NTA.

UGC NET 2020 Educational Qualification Requirement

  • You must score at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) in Post-Graduation or equivalent from any recognized university.
  • If you are a Final year student, then you are also eligible to appear in the exam. But you will be accepted for the award of JRF or professorship after passing the Master’s Degree with minimum qualifying marks.
  • If you are a PhD degree holders and post-graduation exam was completed before September 19, 1991, then you are provided with an additional relaxation of 5% in minimum marks requirement.

UGC NET 2020 Age Limit

  • Assistant Professorship: You should know that there is no age limit for UGC NET Assistant Professorship.
  • Junior Research Fellowship: The upper age limit is 30 years as on June 1, 2020.
  • The age relaxation will be applicable for reserved category candidates as per the government of India norms.

UGC NET 2020 Application Form

UGC NET 2020 Exam Centers

UGC NET Exam will be held in 224 cities this June. You have to choose the four exam cities in order of their preference while filling the UGC NET 2020 Application Form. NTA will try to allow the UGC NET Exam Centre based on your preference. But it also reserves the right to allot any exam center other than the ones selected by the candidates.

Sometimes, NTA adds or cancel an exam in any city if the number of applicants for that city is negligible. You must bring your Admit Card, one passport size photo, and an original photo ID proof with its photocopy.

UGC NET 2020 Answer Key

You should know that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will release UGC NET Answer Keys along with candidates’ response sheets and question papers for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 on June 24, 2020, at the official website.

  • You can raise objections online by paying a fee of INR 1000 per question till June 27, 2020.

It is declared in the form of a scorecard containing marks obtained in both papers for JRF and LS.

UGC NET Exam 2020: Do’s and Don’ts

You should keep in mind do’s and don’ts’ with respect to the UGC NET Exam, these are as given below:



Fill all the information correctly in the application form.

Do not try to hide any information asked in the application form. If anyone found to be ineligible later, then you will not able to appear the exam.

You have to download the admit card from the website and keep it safe for appearing in the exam.

Do not indulge in any wrong practice. Al the exam center would be under CCTV surveillance.

The candidates must visit the exam center a day before the test date to know the exact location of the exam center.

Do not forget to carry UGC NET hall ticket or admit card and identity proof etc. to the exam center. Without these, you will not be allowed to enter the examination center.

Reach the exam venue at least half an hour before the commencement of the exam as per the directions given in the admit card.

Do not carry electronic devices such as mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, wristwatch or any other device as per the instructions to the exam center.

After obtaining the question booklet in the exam room, check all the pages carefully.

Do not waste your time in solving difficult questions first. Start with easy first and then go for tough questions.

Do not leave the room without the permission of the invigilator. After completing the question paper, submit it to the invigilator before leaving the exam hall.
