CTET Paper 2 Syllabus 2023: The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Exam 2023 was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to recruit teachers for Central Government Schools. One has to be aware of CTET Exam Pattern and Syllabus to attend the exam. Mainly CTET Exam Consists of 2 Papers, Paper I and Paper II. Both the Syllabus are decided by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

As you know CTET Exam has two papers with different difficulty levels, with different CTET Syllabus. CTET Paper-I is for those candidates who intend to apply for the post of a teacher from class I – V. Candidates have to select any language among the 20 given by the authority for the CTET exam. While filling out the application form, candidates have to select any two languages as per their choice.

CTET Exam Pattern 2023 for Paper 2

CTET Syllabus Paper 2 2023 is determined on the topics taught for class 5 to class 8, while the Paper 1 syllabus comprises the Primary stage. For those candidates who wish to apply for the post of teacher for classes I to VIII, they have to sit for both papers. The minimum mark required by the candidates is 60% to be qualified for the Eligibility Certificate by the board.

Nature and Standard of Questions in CTET 2023 For Paper 2

Some of the major details about the nature and standard of questions in the CTET Paper 2 exam can be checked below –

  • The nature of questions in Language I of Paper-II of the CTET exam will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction.

  • The nature of questions in Language II will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

  • The nature of questions in the Child Development and Pedagogy section of CTET exam 2023 will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning, specifically the age group of 11-14 years. The questions will focus on understanding the characteristics, needs, and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners, and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

  • CTET Paper II applicants must note that Language I and Language II are mandatory apart from the other major sections of the exam. A candidate may choose any one language as Language I and other as Language II from the available language options and will be required to specify the same in the Confirmation Page.

  • The nature of questions in Mathematics and Science and Social Studies/Social Science of CTET Paper II exam 2023 will be based on the concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding and applications of the subjects. The questions of Mathematics and Science will be 30 marks each. The questions will be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject as prescribed for classes VI-Vlll by the NCERT.

  • For Paper II, the questions will be asked on the basis of the topics prescribed in the syllabus of the NCERT for classes VI-VIII but their difficulty standard, as well as linkages, could be up to the Senior Secondary stage.

  • The questions in CTET Paper II will be based on the NCERT syllabus topics as prescribed for class VI-VIII. Difficulty and aptitude levels may be of the Senior Secondary stage.
