CTET Selection Process: The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a major teaching qualification assessment for applicants who wish to adapt to the teaching role as their career. CTET is administered annually by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Delhi.

CTET is a qualifying examination in nature.  Aspirants can register for different teaching exams such as KVS, DSSSB, APS, NVS, and so on, after qualifying for the CTET test.

CTET Selection Process 2023

The examination authority of CTET states that the minimum marks required for eligibility for the test are 60%. Since there are reservations in the test, minimum marks for eligibility vary among the candidates of reserved categories. Reserved category candidates need to obtain 55 percent or more marks in the exam.

  • Aspiring applicants from scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, other backward classes, and specially-abled categories are offered a relaxation on the basis of their respective categories.
  • For the posts of class I to class VIII, teachers are appointed through the CBSE-conducted Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) held every year.
  • The written test for CTET consists of two papers – Paper I and Paper II.
  • Paper I is for those applicants who seek a teaching post in classes from I to V, Applicants who wish to teach students in classes from I to V must clear the Paper-I
  • Paper II is for those who wish to get a teaching job for classes from VI to VIII. Aspirants who wish to teach from Classes VI to VIII must clear Paper II.
  • Applicants can also appear for both papers if they are willing to teach from Classes I to VIII.

Candidates in the General category will be declared qualified if they achieve a score of 60% on the examination. Here are the CTET Cut off marks for each category:
