Basic Introduction

Indian Engineering Services (IES) exam, also known as Engineering Services Examination (ESE), is a national level recruitment exam organized by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The exam is conducted to recruit candidates for engineering positions for the various department working under the Government of India.

IES Admit Card 2020

IES Mains Admit Card 2020 will be released by UPSC. The IES Mains 2020 will be conducted on 28th June 2020. You should know that the Mains Hall Ticket will be released on June 2020 (tentative)

The UPSC IES Prelims Exam was conducted on January 5, 2020 (Sunday). The IES Exam has 2 Objective type papers: Paper I and Paper II. Paper I will be General Studies and Engineering Aptitude of 200 marks while Paper II will be Subject-specific of 300 marks. There will be negative marking as well.

You should know that the IES exam is also known as Engineering Services Exam (ESE).

How to Download IES/ESE Admit Card 2020?

UPSC published IES Admit Card separately for all the three stages- Prelims, Main exam and Interview round.

You have to follow the given steps in order to download the Admit Card:

  • Step 1: You have to visit the official website of UPSC – upsc.gov.in.
  • Step 2: Now, you should click on the ‘Examinations’ tab.
  • Step 3: In the examinations section, you have to click on e-admit cards.
  • Step 4: There will be a link for the ‘UPSC Engineering IES 2020 Admit Card’.
  • Step 5: Now, you should click on the IES 2020 Admit Card.
  • Step 6: You have to read the Instructions and click “Yes”.
  • Step 7: Enter IES Registration number/ Roll Number, Date of birth and Captcha in the provided field.
  • Step 8: Click on the “Submit” button.
  • Step 9: IES Examination Admit Card 2020 will appear on the screen.
  • Step 10: You have to download and take a printout of the admit card and carry it with you on exam day.

The Discrepancy in IES/ESE Hall Ticket Card 2020

In case of non-receipt of UPSC IES Hall Ticket, you can contact the Facilitation Counter located in the UPSC Office either in person or by phone.

In case of discrepancy or errors in the IES Hall Ticket, the candidate must get in touch with the appropriate authority, requesting to issue a new one. The request must contain the following particulars:

  • Registration ID (RID)
  • Roll Number (if received)

IES Exam Centers 2020

You should know that UPSC has notified 42 prelims exam centers and 24 main exam centers for IES 2020.

You can choose one exam center each for prelims and main exams during IES registration. UPSC tries to allocate the preferred exam centers to the candidate, however, it reserves the right to allot center other than the one preferred by the candidate.

You should note that the allotted IES Exam Centers will be mentioned on the admit card.
