SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria 2023 

The basic criteria required for the SSC CHSL Eligibility is that a candidate must be between the age of 18 years to 27 years. In context to Nationality and Educational Qualification, there are various other aspects also included. So now let’s look at those aspects one by one.  

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria 2023: Nationality 

A candidate must be either of the following:-  

  • A citizen of India  
  • A citizen of Nepal  
  • A citizen of Bhutan  
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, intending to permanently settle in India  
  • A person of Indian origin migrated from either/ or Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India.  

Candidates other than citizens of India need to have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India when asked by authorities. The offer of appointment will only be issued to such candidates when they submit the certificate of eligibility.  

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria 2023: Age limit 

The candidate must be between the age of 18 years to 27 years on January 1, 2023. This means that you should not be born before January 2, 1996, and not later than January 1, 2003. The relaxation for the candidate belonging to the reserved category is as follows:-  

SC / ST  

5 years  

OBC  

3 years  

PWD (Unserved)  

10 years  

PWD (OBC)  

13 years  

PWD (SC/ST)  

15 years  

Ex-Servicemen (ESM)  

3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the closing date of the recipient of the online application  

Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir during the period from January 1, 1980, to December 31, 1989  

5 years  

Defense Personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof  

3 years

8 years  

Central Government civilian employees who have rendered not less than three years of regular and continuous service as of the closing date for receipt of online application

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria 2023: Educational Qualification Details

Post-wise Educational Qualification are as follows:-  

  • For Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant (PA)/ Sorting Assistant (SA), Data Entry Operator (DEO): Candidate should clear Class 12 or possess an equivalent qualification from a recognized university of the board.  
  • For DEO (Grade A) in the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): candidates should pass Class 12 in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized board or equivalent.  

Note: Candidates who are yet to appear for Class 12th Exams are also eligible to apply. However, such candidates need to present the documentary evidence of clearing Class 12th Standard latest by January 1, 2023.
