You can also be eligible if you are a citizen of Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan who came to India before 1962, Jan 1st, and settled permanently in India.

The next SSC GD Constable Eligibility is based on age criteria. You should be able to fulfill the minimum and maximum age criteria which are between 18-23 years in the year when SSC GD Constable Notification is declared. You must belong to the age group of 18-23 years.

You must have attained the minimum age of 18 years at the time the SSC GD Constable Notification for the application is announced. Your maximum age should be 23 years at the time of notification of SSC GD constable registration.

SSC GD Age Relaxation | Constable Age Limit

There are certain relaxations in the age limit for certain categories as admissible by the SSC GD Recruitment Board for the eligibility of the SSC GD constable post.

Age Exceptions for SC/ST

For Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST), the eligibility age is relaxed by 5 years, and for other backward classes, it is 3 years.

Age Exceptions for Ex-Servicemen

For Ex-servicemen, the age is relaxed up to 3 years after deducting the number of years in military service from the current age.

For the unreserved category of children and dependents of victims killed in the communal riot of 1984 and Gujarat riot of 2002, the age is relaxed up to 5 years. The same under OBC which gets a relaxation of 8 years and under SC/ST, it is 10 years.

Age Exceptions for those having Jammu & Kashmir state domicile status

Candidates domiciled ordinarily in Jammu & Kashmir state from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989 get the age relaxation of 5 years.

Staff Selection Commission accepts and recognizes the date of birth and name reflected in the mark sheet or certificate of Class 10 to determine the candidate/applicant’s age and name.

Detailed SSC GD Constable Non-Eligibility

If Ex-Servicemen are on regular employment in the Central Government civil side in Group-C posts under reservation benefits offered for their re-employment, they cannot take the ex-servicemen category reservation benefits. They will get the age relaxation benefit, though.

Sons, daughters, or dependents of ex-servicemen are not eligible to take the benefit of the SSC GD constable age relaxation.
