GATE 2022 Selection Process

  • It is an Online examination.
  • GATE EC Exam has only 1 stage, written examination, no interview.
  • If you have successfully cleared the written examination, you have to apply for the available seats. Number of seats available will be taken in on a first come first serve basis.
  • Institutes are allotted to candidates for admissions with the normalized GATE Score/Interview + normalized GATE score.

To be able to apply for the GATE EC Exam 2022, you must fulfil the eligibility criteria, mentioned below:

  • Age 

There is no age limit. You must have to be a graduate to be able to apply for the GATE EC Exam 2022. There is no upper age limit.

  • Nationality 

Indian citizens can apply for the exam. Foreign citizens must clear the eligibility criteria for the Foreign Nationals to be eligible for the exam. SC / ST / PwD categories are not applicable.

  • Differential Equations: First order equations (linear and nonlinear), higher-order linear differential equations, Cauchy’s and Euler’s equations, methods of solution using a variation of parameters, complementary function and particular integral, partial differential equations, variable separable method, initial and boundary value problems.

  • Vector Analysis: Vectors in plane and space, vector operations, gradient, divergence and curl, Gauss’s, Green’s and Stoke’s theorems.

Networks, Signals, and Systems
  • Network solution methods: Nodal and mesh analysis; Network theorems: superposition, Thevenin and Norton’s, maximum power transfer; Wye‐Delta transformation; Steady state sinusoidal analysis using phasors; Time-domain analysis of simple linear circuits; Solution of network equations using Laplace transform; Frequency domain analysis of RLC circuits; Linear 2‐port network parameters: driving point and transfer functions; State equations for networks.
