6 Stages of XLRI-XAT Selection Process 2021-22:

The XAT selection process 2021-22 includes six main stages:

  1. The XAT 2021-22 Registration and Application Submission is tentatively closed by November 30, 2021.
  2. The candidate can apply to XLRI, IMT, TAPMI, and other preferred Institutes.
  3. Proceeding to the XAT exam which is tentatively scheduled on January 3, 2022.
  4. Declaration of the XAT 2021-22 Results.
  5. Shortlisting of candidates for the next round of the XAT 2021-22 selection process based on their XAT exam score.
  6. Final Admission Process after the selection procedure of the XAT 2021-22.

Stage 1: Registration and Application Submission for the XAT 2021-22

If you want to participate in the admissions process of XLRI 2020-21, then you must first apply for XAT and Jamshedpur’s XLRI. The XAT 2021-22 and XLRI application forms can be filled online and completed in some time. XLRI also provides the opportunity to apply using the joint application form of XAT 2021-22 and one or more XLRI management programs.

Stage 2: Taking the XAT exam 2021

The candidate’s performance in the XAT exam 2021-22 is an important criterion for proceeding with the XAT selection process 2021. According to the total score, percentile score, and sectional score of the XAT exam 2021 for selection, before proceeding with the XLRI-XAT selection process, you should understand the XAT 2021 exam plan.

Stage 3: XAT Result 2021-22

The third stage of the XAT selection process is the announcement of the 2021-22 XAT results and the release of the scorecard. The selection process for XAT 2021 will depend on the candidate’s XAT 2021 percentile and position in the XLRI merit list of the shortlisted candidates. The candidate must also submit XAT 2021-22 results to other B schools that you have applied for or want to apply for now.

Stage 4: Shortlisting of candidates For Final XLRI-XAT Admission

The next step in the XAT selection process is to conduct the final round of XLRI pre-selection based on the results of the XAT 2021 exam or other B schools where you applied for MBA admission. It may contain or have different components of the final qualification round, GD-PI-WAT, PI-WAT, or GD-PI based on your personal admission policy.

The decision on the minimum appropriate division and sectional cut-off will be done by XLRI and another related school B. If candidates do not meet the specified minimum percentile in the 2021-22 XAT entrance exam, they may not be considered for pre-qualification for the final selection stage.

Stage 5: Participate in GD-PI-WAT round

All shortlisted candidates participating in the GD-PI-WAT round are eligible to participate in the final qualification round of the XLRI PGDM course. They can apply for the personal interview round of PGDM (BM), PGDM (HRM), and PGDM (GM) through XAT which will be held in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Jamshedpur from mid-February to March 2022.

Only for PGDM (GM) program candidates who cannot participate in the XLRI interview as they reside outside the country, so for them, the interview is conducted through online mode via the Internet. You can conduct GMP interviews with foreign candidates through G-Talk / Skype. The foreign candidates must send an email to admis@xlri.ac.in to arrange an online interview. 

Stage 6. Final Admission Offer

Receiving an admission notice from XLRI, IMT, XIMB or other preferred B schools is the last step in the XAT 2020 admission process. XLRI will release the final admission list in April 2022 / May 2022, and the session will tentatively start in mid-June 2022.

XAT Exam Pattern 2021

Basically, the XAT MBA question paper consists of 100 MCQ – type questions. There are in total 4 sections in the exam. Previously, XAT has been conducted in manual and paper-based mode until 2017, and it became a computerized test (CBT) in 2018.
