GATE Civil Engineering Exam Pattern 2024

GATE is an online test that comprises a total of 65 questions & is classified into three segments. The candidates must go through GATE Exam Pattern before starting the preparation of the exam.  The candidates who are appearing for the GATE exam 2024 must answer the general aptitude section. Here are some important points regarding GATE 2024 Civil Engineering Exam Pattern:

  • GATE is conducted in online mode only i.e Computer-Based Test.
  • The question paper comprises 65 questions for a total of 100 marks.
  • The exam has two types of questions such as MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) & NAT (Numerical Answer Type).
  • There is negative marking for MCQs but not applicable for NAT.
  • 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer for 1 mark MCQs & 2/3 marks will be deducted for 2 marks MCQs.
  • GATE exam contains three sections as General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, & specific subject of the paper.
  • All disciplines in the GATE exam have three sections except for AR, CY, GG, EY, XL, PH, and MA.
