AFCAT Physical Standard Test 2023: The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducts the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) to select qualified individuals for the positions of Ground Duty Staff, Flying Branch, and Technical Branch. The AFCAT Physical Standard Test is an important element in the AFCAT Recruitment process for anyone interested in applying for the AFCAT stated positions.

AFCAT Physical Standard Test 2023

Candidates are recruited by the AFCAT board for three major branches. These three branches each have their own set of Physical Standard Criteria, which are detailed in the following sections.

AFCAT Physical Standard Test 2023: Ground Duty Staff and Technical Branch

The Ground Duty Staff is required to meet the following height and weight requirements. Furthermore, AFCAT has provided a different set of parameters for male and female candidates, so make sure to double-check.

For Male:

• Minimum Height for Man – 157.5 cms
• Weight Requirement – Body weight should be in proportion to height.

For Female:

• Minimum Height for Man – 152 cms
• Weight Requirement – Body weight should be in proportion to height.

AFCAT Physical Standard Test 2023: Flying Branch

The following information pertains to the male and female candidates’ height and weight criteria. Examine the information carefully to see if you meet the requirements.

For Male:

For Flying, the below parameters are specified related to Height and weight.

• Minimum Height – 162.5 cms
• Weight Requirement – Body weight and height should be in proportion.
• Sitting Height for Male is Minimum: 81.5 cms and Maximum – 96 cms
• Leg Length for Male is Minimum: 99 cms and Maximum – 120 cms
• Thigh Length for Male is Maximum: 96 cms

For Female:

• Minimum Height – 162.5 cms
• Sitting Height – Minimum: 81.5 cms, Maximum – 96 cms
• Weight Requirement – Weight and height should be proportionate.
• Leg Length – Minimum: 99 cms, Maximum – 120 cms
• Min – 99 cms. Max – 120 cms
• Thigh Length – Maximum: 64 cms

AFCAT Physical and Medical Standards 2023

Candidates are encouraged to be physically fit upon reporting for the SSB in order to pass the AFSB exams.

• Candidates must aim to achieve an ability to run 01 mile (1.6 km) in 10 mins, do 10 pushups, and 03 chin-ups.
• Candidates are also advised to keep themselves in good physical condition to adapt to tough physical training at AFA which includes swimming, rope climbing, running, and other forms of physical training in which

AFCAT Physical Standard Test 2023: Height and Weight

Male and female candidates should check the branch-specific height and weight criteria, which are given below. Candidates who are overweight in relation to the established norms will receive a note of caution and will be required to lose weight before reporting for medicals.
