SSC CGL Salary and Job Profile 2023 | Allowances
- HRA – This varies from city to city and is classified into 3 different categories. It should
not be less than Rs. 5400/- pm for X category cities, Rs. 3600/- pm for Y category cities, and Rs.1800/- pm for Z category cities.
- X category of cities will get 24% of Basic Pay.
- Y category of cities will get 16% of Basic Pay.
- Z category of cities will get 8% of Basic Pay.
- DA – It will be 17% Of Basic Pay under the 7th Pay Commission and was increased to 17% by the union cabinet in October 2019.
- TA –
- Employees posted in the cities: Rs.3600
- Employees posted at all other places: Rs.1800

- Medical benefits: The SSC CGL employees become a member of the Central Government Health Scheme which provides the benefit of free treatment in most leading hospitals in the country.
- Gratuity Benefit: The Employees will be entitled to Gratuity Benefit from the Government which will help save money for a better future.
- National Pension Scheme: The SSC CGL Employees will get membership in the NPS scheme and will be given a PAN card. A certain percentage of their salary will be deducted under this scheme and kept as a contribution towards NPS, and the amount is contributed by the employer.
