State and elaborate properties of light.





Describe the dependance of human activities on light.




Discuss good and bad effects of lighting.




What is photometer? Explain any one type of photometer with suitable diagram. [6]


Q3) a) With a suitable diagram explain construction and working of compact flourocent lamp (CFL).                  [8]

b)           Describe different materials used for lamps.      [8]


Q4) a) With a suitable diagram explain construction and working of LASERS. State the applications of LASERS.                 [8]

b)           Draw circuit diagram of flourocent tube operating on single phase AC supply. State advantages of gas discharge lamps over incandescent lamps.                               [8]


Discuss the importance of reflectors and refractors with reference to illumination.                                  [8]

Briefly describe different types of lighting fixtures according to photometric usage.                                [8]


With a suitable diagram explain working of electronic ballast used for HID lamp.                                     [8]

Write a short note on physical protection of lighting fixtures.    [8]


State and explain the laws of illumination.       [8]

Explain the procedure for designing illumination scheme for educational facility.                             [8]
