The NEET 2018 is almost here, and as an aspirant aiming to crack the toughest medical entrance in the country, it is time re-shift your focus from a macro view of the vast syllabus to finer nitty gritties. One such crucial aspect is familiarizing yourself with the NEET chapter-wise weightage for different subjects, so that you can really narrow down your attention to the topics that could make or break your result and go easy on the not-so-important ones.

After all, studying smart is just as important as studying hard when stakes are high in terms of vastness of the syllables, difficulty level of exams and odds of success. If you have been working on NEET mock tests and sample papers consistently, you must already have a sense of what topics have been the examiners’ favorite over the past few years. Nonetheless, it helps to have a break-down of weightage in black and white.

As you must be already aware by now, the NEET exam comprises 180 questions. These are all multiple choice questions and carry four marks each. Of these, you have 45 questions each from Physics and Chemistry and 90 questions from Biology – 45 from Zoology and 45 from Botany. Now, it boils down to which chapters, topics, concepts from each of these subjects have the highest likelihood of featuring in the exam. Apart from this, you also need to be aware of how much of the exam will be from the Class XI syllabus and how much from Class XII.

NOTE:

The CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) will close the download facility of the admit card soon at cbseneet.nic.in. All the students who will appear for the examinations have to download the admit card from the official website. The exam will be conducted on May 6, 2018, for admissions to various medical courses at institutes across the country. Last year, 11.38 lakh students had registered for the examinations.
