Cement Process Engineering

Design and control of cement compositions, particle size distribution in raw materials, study of solid-state reactions,

sintering and clinkering.

Detailed study of rotary kiln and shaft kiln.  Advanced study of the constitution of Portland cement clinker and the

method of investigation.  The principles and techniques of high temperature phase anlaysis in clinker formation.

Studies of the important systems in the phase formation, formation of various mineralogical products,  effect of

impurities and role of minor components. 7

Study of the important system in the new phase formation in cement hydration.  Crystal structure of anhydrous and

hydrated compounds.  The chemistry of hydrated cement compounds.

High temperature cement and refractory castables, hydrated calcium silicate products other than hydraulic cements.

Polymer cement interactions.  Polymer cement concrete, Polymer impregnated concrete, Macro-defect-free (MDF)

products, Fibre reinforced concrete and protective coatings.
