GATE Petroleum Engineering Syllabus 2023: IIT Kharagpur is the conducting authority for GATE Exam 2023.

Spatial Aptitude Shape transformation – mirroring, rotation, translation, grouping, assembling, and scaling; Paper cutting, folding & 2-D and 3-D patterns.
Numerical Aptitude Elementary statistics & probability; geometry; data and graphs (bar graph, histogram, pie chart, and other data graphs), 2- and 3- dimensional plots, maps, and tables; mensuration; numerical computation & estimation – powers, exponents, percentages, permutations & combinations, ratios, logarithms, etc.

  • The GATE Engineering Exam is totally computer-based.
  • There are 3 sections of the GATE exam i.e. General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and Engineering.
  • The General Aptitude section will account for 15% of the weightage in the exam while the other two sections Engineering Mathematics and Engineering will account for 85% weightage.
  • There will be 1 and 2 marks questions in the GATE Exam. For every wrong answer, from the 1 mark questions there will be a deduction of 1/3rd marks, and from the 2 mark questions there will be a deduction of 2/3rd marks.
  • The total duration of the GATE Engineering exam is 180 minutes.
