JEE Exam Pattern 2026: The jee exam pattern for 2026 continues to follow the revised structure that includes significant changes in question format and marking scheme. The exam pattern of JEE remains consistent with recent years’ format. JEE Exam Pattern – New Additions

  1. In Paper 1, there will be 90 questions in total, 25 questions each from the subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates can attempt 75 from them.
  2. There will be 20 MCQs and 10 Numerical questions in each subject. Out of 10, 5 questions are optional.
  3. There is no negative marking in the numerical questions.
  4. Paper 1(B. Tech/B.E), will have a total weightage of 300 marks, and Paper 2 (B. Arch/B. Planning) will have a total weightage of 400 marks.
  5. JEE Main Exam 2026 will be conducted in 13 languages.

JEE Exam Pattern – Important Guidelines

  • All the candidates have to carry their own geometry box set, pencils, erasers, colored pencils, or crayons.
  • All the candidates will be instructed to open the Test Booklet Seal 5 minutes before the exam commences. Also, they have to confirm the Test Booklet Code printed on Side 2 on the Answer Sheet is similar to the one printed on the Test Booklet. In case of a mismatch, the invigilator must be informed.
  • Candidates can carry a clipboard with nothing written on it to the exam hall.
  • Rough sheets will be provided to the candidates and must be returned to the examiner after the exam ends.
