Preface This book has been written for university students who are studying
undergraduates, I felt a need to have a book that can give basic information
aquaculture to those who do not have access to different books on these aspects. I found that it was difficult for the students, particularly undergraduate level, to gather text material for study from a single book. This book will certainly fulfil the required needs of the students specially those who are studying in ICAR institutions or SAUs as this book has been written keeping is view the ICAR syllabi for UG classes. The first chapter deals with introduction to fish wherein definition of fish, its classification, nomenclature and features have been given. Chapter two deals with introduction to limnology and, lakes and reservoirs. In chapter three, information on fisheries and its types has been embodied.
