ICSE Biology For Class - IX by Tripathi-Saxena
Book Summary:

We feel extremely privileged to present the second edition of biology class 9 to the knowledgeable readers. This book was motivated by the desire we have had to further the evolution of the basic concepts in the field of life science. It is not that there is a dearth of quality books in the market, but throughout our teaching experience spanning a period of about 25 years, we always found the existing books a bit too exhaustive and technically oriented. This, for most of the times, created comprehensive difficulty in gaining the key concepts by an average student. As teachers and examiners alike, we found a gap between understanding the finer nuances of the subject by the students and reproducing them in the examination with proper accuracy.

One of the major objectives of learning biology, according to the Council is to enable the students “To acquire the ability to observe, experiment, hypothesis, infer, handle equipment accurately and make correct recordings”. This is not possible unless the subject is presented before them in a ‘simple and easy to understand’ language.
