Geography For Class-XII by D R Khullar
I am immensely delighted to place the completely revised twelfth edition of this book before the students and the teachers. I am beholden to the readers for their overwhelming response to the first eleven editions of the book. The publication of the twelfth edition in this shortduration speaks volumes of the quality and popularity of the book. It is gratifying to note that the book is serving the purpose for which it was written.
The present edition of the book is divided into three main parts. The first part deals with the Fundamentals of Human Geography. It throws light on different aspects of the world population and the interrelation between man and his natural environment. The second part of the book is devoted to the Geography of India. It gives a critical analysis of burning issues like environment besides dealing at length with population, natural resources, transport and trade of the country. The third part of the book is concerned with the practical aspect of the subject. A detailed account of processing of data and thematic mapping as well as field study and spatial information technology has been given in this section. The book has been made more useful by documenting it with the latest data and information.
Each chapter is followed by very short answer questions and questions carrying 3 and 5 marks respectively. These questions include previous years’ CBSE examination questions. In addition, sufficient number of questions on map work and NCERT textual questions with answers have also been given. This scheme is in tune with the Sample Paper prepared by the CBSE, New Delhi. It will be of great help to the students preparing for the examination conducted by the CBSE. Hints for the questions have been given wherever necessary to make the task of the students easy.
