A reciprocal is a fraction where the numerator &amp; denominator change places.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A negative number is any number less than zero<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Negative numbers are expressed with a negative sign.<\/p>\n<p>For instance: -4 is four less than zero. If the students add &amp; subtract negative numbers, they either move to the right or the left of the number line.<\/p>\n<p>When they subtract a negative number they move to the left of the number line as it\u2019s the same as adding a positive number. If they add a negative number, they move to the right because it\u2019s the same as subtracting a positive number.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>How to solve negative fraction exponents<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When the students multiply a negative number by a positive number or vice versa, the number will be negative.
