<\/span><\/h2>\nArticles: Articles are further categorized as Indefinite and Definite articles. \u2018A\u2019 and \u2018an\u2019 are the two indefinite articles in English Grammar, and \u2018the\u2019 is the only definite article. In the case of indefinite articles, \u2018a or \u2018an\u2019 can be used based on the sound of the initial letter of the succeeding word. This is mainly due to the pronunciation in the English language.<\/p>\n
\u2018A\u2019 is used in the following conditions:<\/p>\n
In sentences where the following words begin with a constant sound.<\/p>\n
It is also used where the following word is a singular and countable noun.<\/p>\n
\u2018an\u2019 is used in the following conditions:<\/p>\n
Sentences where the word has a vowel sound(a, e, i, o, u) and where there is a singular countable noun.<\/p>\n
\u2018The\u2019 is an indefinite article that can be used with both singular and plural nouns. It is mainly used to refer to a place, person, or thing. Some examples are given below:<\/p>\n

Demonstratives: The second kind of determiner are demonstrative. In English grammar, demonstratives are used as this, that, these, and those. \u2018That\u2019 (plural form is \u2018those\u2019) is used in place of a preceding noun in order to avoid repetition. For examples: <\/p>\n
My boots are better than those of my sister.<\/p>\n
Our political academies are better than those of Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n
My handbag is better than that of my cousin.<\/p>\n

In order to refer to a person\/persons or thing\/things present in the vicinity of the speaker, the English demonstrative \u2018This (Plural These)\u2019 is used. This can be explained clearly with the following examples: <\/p>\n

In order to refer to a person\/persons or thing\/things which are away from the speaker, the demonstrative \u2018That (Plural Those)\u2019 is used.<\/p>\n

I shall order that pair of jeans from the Internet.<\/p>\n
He will get that book he saw across the shop.<\/p>\n

Possessives: My, your, our, his, her, its, there are some of the possessive determiners in the English language. Possessives are used to refer to the ownership of certain thing\/things.<\/p>\n
A few examples of Possessive determiners are as follows<\/p>\n
This is my bike.<\/p>\n
It is their house.<\/p>\n
This is her car.<\/p>\n
That is our garden.<\/p>\n
