It is known as the general form of a quadratic equation where &#8216;a&#8217; is referred to as the leading coefficient, and &#8216;c&#8217; is known to be the absolute term of f(x).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The values of x responsible for satisfying the quadratic equation are called the roots of the quadratic equation (a,b). The quadratic equation will always have two roots, i.e., real or imaginary.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"roots-of-quadratic-equations\"><\/span>Roots Of Quadratic Equations<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Roots are the values of the variables that satisfy the requirements of a particular quadratic equation. x = a is considered as one of the roots of the quadratic equation f(x), if f(a) = 0.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The real roots of the equation f(x) = 0 are termed as the x-coordinates of the points; the point where the curve y = f(x) intersects the x-axis.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">It is proved that one of the roots of the quadratic equation is zero whereas the other is equal to -b\/a if c = 0.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">In case, b = c = 0 then both the roots are measured to be zero.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">When a = c, the roots are reciprocal to each other.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"nature-of-roots-of-quadratic-equations\"><\/span>Nature Of Roots OF Quadratic Equations<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<table><colgroup><col width=\"312\" \/><col width=\"312\" \/><\/colgroup>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">If the value of the discriminant = 0 i.e. b<sup>2<\/sup> &#8211; 4ac = 0<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In this case, the quadratic equation will have equal roots i.e. a = b = -b \/ 2a<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">If the value of discriminant &lt; 0 i.e. b<sup>2<\/sup> &#8211; 4ac &lt; 0<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In this case, the quadratic equations will have imaginary roots i.e. a = (p + iq) and b = (p &#8211; iq).
