UGC NET is conducted twice a year in order to select candidates for only Assistant Professor or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges.\u00a0As per latest media reports, from 2018 onwards UGC NET will be conducted once a year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Every year, the huge number of candidates appears for the NET. The test is conducted for determining the eligibility for college and university level lectureship and for awarding the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) to Indian nationals for pursuing their Ph.D. or research.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>UGC NET Exam Pattern:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The paper will be divided into 3 parts:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Paper\u00a0I: \u00a0The questions will be general in nature. The duration of the paper will be one hour 15 minutes. The candidates are required to attempt 50 questions. It will carry a total of 100 marks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Paper II:\u00a0The questions will be asked from the subject selected by the candidate. It will\u00a0consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate.
