MUMBAI: Students appearing for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2016<\/a><\/strong>) in January and February 2016 will get to challenge the answer key published by the organisers. The notification for the test was released last week by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, which is the organising institute this year.

‘After the completion of the test, all answer keys will be made available for dispute within a short time. Every answer key can be challenged. A nominal fee will be levied to prevent frivolous challenges’, mentioned the official GATE 2016<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0brochure in the new features in the 2016 exam. An online virtual calculator will also be available during the exam this time and no physical calculator will be allowed. The calculator will be available on the site before the exam for students to practice.<\/p>\n

There are also changes in the syllabus. Students can access the syllabus on their official site<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0and a new paper on petroleum engineering is also added to the existing 22 papers.<\/p>\n

GATE <\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is conducted jointly by the IISc and seven IITs on behalf of the National Co-ordination Board-GATE<\/a><\/strong>. The online computer-based test will be held on January 30 and 31 and February 6 and 7. The sale of application form will commence from September 1. GATE<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0scores are used for admissions to post-graduate courses such as M E, M Tech in centrally-funded institutes of higher education and also by some public sector companies for employment purposes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
