MBBS Eligibility Criteria - The National Medical Commission (NMC) sets the eligibility criteria for MBBS admission in India.

The candidature of candidates found ineligible at any stage of MBBS admission will be canceled.

Educational Qualification – To get MBBS admission in India, candidates must have passed the 12th class from a recognized board.

Subjects studied on the board - To pursue the MBBS course, students must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in their classes 11 and 12.

Minimum Marks Required - Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination for MBBS admission in India. For SC, ST, and OBC category candidates, the minimum mark required is 40%.

Age - The age limit for appearing in the NEET exam has been abolished.

MBBS Entrance Exam - There is only one All India Medical Entrance Test - NEET for MBBS admission. NTA conducts medical entrance exams on the basis of the NEET-UG syllabus.

After qualifying for the NEET exam, candidates will be eligible to participate in the central and state-level counseling process conducted for MBBS admission.

NTA will prepare the list of NEET-UG-qualified candidates. To participate in the counseling and seat allotment process, students have to register on the portal of the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC).

Counseling for MBBS admission can be conducted in offline or online mode. During the state counseling of MBBS admission, candidates have to register.

The choices of courses and colleges have to be filled and will have to go through the document verification process. Apart from the state quota seats, admission in MBBS on 100% seats in private colleges of the state will be done by the state authorities.
