(a) Explain how antigen is processed and presented on the surface of MHC molecule.
(b) What are antibody isotypes? Describe their characteristic features and functions.
(c) What are the complement proteins? Describe the role of these proteins in regulation and activation of compliment system, and its role in humeral immune response.

(a) Define cytokine, monokine and lymphokine.
(b) Discuss role of interleukines in overall immune regulation.
(c) Elucidate the principle of Radioimmunoassay (RIA).
(d) Explain the mechanism of cell death in negative selection.
(e) Why does precipitation not occur property at the antibody excess zone and the antigen excess zone?
(f) Explain affinity versus avidity of an antibody.

(a) What are hybridomas? How monoclonal antibodies are produced by hybridoma technology ? And add a note on advantage of some over the same produced by genetically engineered microbes.
(b) What are the factors that need to be taken into consideration for immunization strategies with a vaccine?

(b) Explain different types of hypersensitive reactions.
(c) Explain the molecular mechanism of interferon action to inhibit multiplication of virus. Justify how the immunity by interferon is considered in nonspecific immunity?
