UPSC IES Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2019
The Indian Engineering Services (IES) is a combined three-stage competitive examination called the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) which is conducted by the UPSC for filling in various Technical Posts. The IES Exam is conducted in two stages: Prelims and Mains. The UPSC IES Prelims is completed successfully in the month of January 2019. Now, it is time for candidates to prepare for UPSC IES Mains 2019. So to ease out all the candidate’s preparation, we have provided the detailed UPSC IES Syllabus and Exam pattern here. IES Syllabus 2019
Indian Engineering Services examination is conducted in three stages. The first two stages are written examinations that are explained below.
Stage 1 consists of 2 Papers namely General Studies & Engineering Aptitude (Paper 1) and Engineering Discipline (Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering).
- The questions in Paper 1 are based on Current issues, Basic Engineering Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and Numerical Analysis, etc.
- The questions in Paper 2 are based on the chosen engineering discipline.
Stage 2 also consists of 2 Papers, both the papers are engineering discipline specific.
IES Syllabus for General Knowledge and Engineering Aptitude
Questions from this section generally include Current issues of national and international importance related to economic, social and industrial development. The questions in this paper are of graduate level. Engineering Aptitude section will cover questions from:
