SSC CGL Syllabus 2019

SSC has conducted CGL Tier-II Examination from September 11 – 13, 2019. Without a fair knowledge of SSC CGL Syllabus for Tier-I, Tier-II & III Exam, you cannot prepare effectively.

SSC CGL Tier-I Syllabus

You will see the major sections in the SSC CGL 2019 Preliminary Exam as below.

  • General Awareness,
  • Reasoning,
  • Quantitative Aptitude,
  • English Language.

SSC CGL Tier-II Syllabus

The Mains Exam will be held online. It is an objective multiple-choice exam. Here major sections asked in Mains Exam are 

  • Quantitative Aptitude,
  • English Language and Comprehension
  • Statistics,
  • General Studies (Finance and Economics)

SSC CGL Tier-III Syllabus

Here your written skills will be tested in English/Hindi. Tier-III of the SSC CGL 2019 exam is a completely descriptive exam.

  • You have to write essays, précis, applications, letters, etc. in this exam. It is fully offline.
  • You will get 60miniutues to attempt 100 marks.
  • If you are from the PWD category, then you will get 80 minutes to solve the questions.

SSC CGL 2019 Tier IV Syllabus

Tier-IV examination includes a couple of skill sets.

  • DEST (Data Entry Speed Test): For the post of Tax Assistant, DEST Exam through SSC CGL 2019 exam is conducted to check your typing speed. You have to type a given article in English on Computer. You are required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes.
  • CPT (Computer Proficiency Test): Word Processing, Spread Sheets, and Generation of slides are the three modules that are important for this exam. It is important for the post of CSS, MEA, Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), and Inspector (Examiner).

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2019 

SSC CGL 2019 Exam has four stages: Tier-1, Tier-2, Tier-3 & Tier-4 exam. Here the Tier-I & Tier-II exam will be conducted onlineTier-III will be a pen, and a paper-based exam and Tier-IV will be a computer skill test.

Tier 1 – This exam is 60 minutes long computer-based online test of 200 marks. For each wrong answer, your 0.50 Marks will be deducted. You should know that there is no sectional cut off.

Tier 2 – Paper-I and Paper-II are compulsory for all the students. Paper III is only for Statistical Investigator Gr II & Compiler Post, while Paper IV is for Asst. Audit Officer Gazetted Group “B” Post only.

Tier 3 – This exam is conducted pen and paper mode fully. It is a descriptive type of paper of 100 marks.

Tier 4– Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)- Asst. Section Officer in CSS & MEA POST ONLY and Data Entry Skill Test (at a speed of 8000 key depressions per hour) – Tax Assistant POST ONLY

  • Each incorrect entry carries a penalty of 0.25 marks.
  • The SSC CGL 2019 question paper will be set in Hindi and English.
