UNIT-I:
Introduction of Finite Element method, Concept of an element, Various Element Shapes
UNIT-II:
Displacements models, element stresses and strains, direct formulations of element stiffness and
loads.
UNIT-III:
Plane Stress/Strain Triangular elements, quadrilateral elements, modeling and mesh refinement.
UNIT-IV:
Construction of stiffness matrix and loads, boundary conditions
UNIT-V:
Finite Element modeling and solution techniques, symmetry in Finite Element method, nature of
Finite Element method solution, errors, convergence and adaptively.
