How To Become a Pilot in India?

If you want to become a pilot after 12th, then for this you must first pass the 12th exam, that too with Physics, Chemistry and Maths subject in Science, so if you are studying 10th now. So after passing the tenth, choose the science subject directly. Only then you can become a pilot, besides it is very important to have at least 50% marks in 12th.

 As soon as you pass the 12th, after this, you will have to apply for a student pilot license, which we also call SPL short, then for this, you will get DGCA i.e. Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Government of India, under this you have to take admission and clear the entrance exam.

 As soon as you clear the SPL, after this, you will have to apply for Private Pilot License, which we also call (PPL), then here also you have to give the exam and complete your training This is the second step to become a pilot, after the SPL certificate, you will need a PPL certificate, it will be a little hard.

 There are over 30 flight schools in India that offer different pilot training programs that you can choose from. It is important that you create a list of your preferred flight school/s so you can compare which is fitting for you. Each school has its own procedures, and enrollment requirements, and depending on which pilot training courses you decide to take, the tuition fee also varies.

As soon as you complete the training of (SPL) and (PPL), then after this, you will have to apply for a Commercial Pilot License to become a direct commercial pilot, which we also call (CPL). You have to give some exams and some tests, and as soon as you clear this exam, then after this, you are called a commercial pilot.

  However, if you’re interested in obtaining a college degree accompanied by flight training, you should consider aviation-related college degree programs. These programs allow students to combine a college degree with flight training.

Airlines often sponsor these programs and students are guaranteed employment upon completion of the course. In this pilot program you will get Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).

 Finally, if you’re interested in serving your country, you can join the Indian Air Force. The Government will sponsor your flight training but you will have to stay with the military for around 12 years after completion before you can apply to commercial airlines
