5 Simple Language Hacks

Read the tabloids - Teachers always say that reading is the best way to build vocab and increase fluency. But what you read is also an important question to address.

Switch up your environment - We all create lists of “must-do activities” during our study abroad experiences.

Keep a vocab journal - One of the most helpful foreign language study tips is to keep a vocab journal near you. While reading, I would underscore unfamiliar vocabulary with a pen.

Listen to the radio - It may seem obvious, but utilizing the media as much as possible is one of the great language learning hacks. If you don’t read, then watch or listen; there are thousands of great podcasts and vlogs in different languages out there, each dedicated to a different subject or domain.

Have 10 conversations per day - there really is no substitute for an actual conversation with a native speaker when it comes to learning a foreign language and improving your speaking skills. It turns out to be one of the most powerful and useful language hacks.
