Health Education For Class-IX & X by Dr V K Sharma
The dream of World Health Organisation “Health for All by 2012” and the dream of Govt. of India “Health for All by 2026” cannot be fulfilled, until every individual is well aware about his own health. To depend only on the government regarding health is not appropriate. In fact our economic condition is not sound. We also lack various medical facilities. So, it becomes our prime duty to be conscious about our own health. We can ameliorate the standard of our country if we keep ourselves in healthy state. So, we should forget about the medical facilities at this juncture. Instead, we should strive hard to improve our health by paying more attention on personal health.
The introduction of ‘Health Education’ as a compulsory subject in IX & X classes by CBSE is definitely an important, valuable and praiseworthy step towards the fulfilment of dreams of Govt. of India and WHO. The medical expenditure of the government can be reduced if we become more conscious about our own health.
Keeping the above objectives in view and according to syllabus, the deliberate and prudent efforts are done to write this book. Every effort has also been made to elucidate the vivid description of various topics, which are prescribed for IX and X classes. This book is written in the form of textbook and the related material shall facilitate the teachers in explaining the subject-matter to the widest possible range. The prudent efforts have also been made to update the information from the latest literature available in the field of Health Education
