Preface Change is the only eternal verity, and advancements in science and technology represent this truth. Analysis of perspectives and prospects provide an opportunity of building a tract of events from the inception to the existing paradigms. Such is the scenario in Agricultural sciences. The shifts in ideas can be summed up as Green revolution - Evergreen revolution, but it has its complex labyrinth of ramifications. The need of refreshing the mind set of SAU faculty with exposure to new and emerging ideas in Agriculture, home science and veterinary science was not only logical but pressing too. Sustainable Agriculture is a judicious sequel to green revolution and thus the organization of refresher course is a timely venture. The present compilation of lectures delivered by expert speakers are reflecting the efforts to achieve the target of exposing the participants to new ideas levelling a holistic vision, enhance anticipatory perceptions and interdisciplinary comprehension about sustainable Agriculture. About the Book The present book on sustainable agriculture Status and Prospects is a collpction of articles contributed by experts from the fields like agronomy, horticulture, entomology, extension education, home science, veterinary and animal science and plant breeding. These were initially the specialized lectures by renowned resource persons which have been transformed and texturized to make an edited book on this important title. The book, thus, covers many faces of sustainable agriculture and would be useful to under graduate and post graduate students of agricultural sciences.
About the Editors Dr. P.N. kalla is Professor of extension Education in Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner, presently being posted at Research Centre for Livestock Research and Production, jaipur. He posses experience of teaching, research and extension for more than 25 years. He had served on positions of Director Extension Education , Director Academic Staff College-cum-Distance Education Centre and Director Monitoring and Planning of RAU, Bikaner. He has visited several Countries like USA, Canada, Israel, Germany and Ethiopia.
