Preface to the First Edition After publishing a similar book on Veterinary Virology in 1993,1 received a number of good comments and appreciations on it. Some of the readers suggested to prepare a similar volume on Bacteriology and Mycology so that the entire course in Microbiology is covered. This book is the outcome of these suggestions. This book consists of 1000 multiple choice and short answer questions. The questions are included from all topics of Bacteriology and Mycology. The subject has been updated to include recent informations on general and pathogenic Microbiology with particular emphasis on the microbial diseases in animals and human beings. The format of objective type and short answer questions will familiarize the reader with this type of examination which is being followed in most of the universities these days. After going through these questions the reviewer can go in for further details in the concerned textbooks. It is hoped that the book will be found useful to both the teachers and the students of Veterinary and Medical colleges. B.S. MALIK
